# Requirements

The You journey runs in a browser context — either directly in your web page (Web SDK) or in the system browser launched by your app (App SDK). These requirements apply to the end user's device in both cases.

### Supported browsers

The capture frame supports WebRTC and the more recent versions of the browsers listed below. Functionality is not guaranteed on very old versions.

| OS      | Chrome | Firefox | Safari | Samsung Internet | Opera | Edge |
| ------- | ------ | ------- | ------ | ---------------- | ----- | ---- |
| Windows | ✅      | ✅       | N/A    | N/A              | ❌     | ❌    |
| macOS   | ✅      | ✅       | ✅      | N/A              | ❌     | ❌    |
| Android | ✅      | ❌       | N/A    | ✅                | ❌     | ❌    |
| iOS     | ✅      | ✅       | ✅      | N/A              | ❌     | ❌    |

{% hint style="info" %}
Edge and Opera are Chromium-based browsers. The ❌ status indicates these browsers have not been officially tested and certified by Unico — they may work in practice, but are not covered by Unico support.
{% endhint %}

### Minimum OS versions (in-app browsing)

| Platform | Minimum    |
| -------- | ---------- |
| Android  | 8 (API 26) |
| iOS      | 13         |

### HTTPS

Your page must be served over HTTPS, and the domains you register with Unico must use HTTPS. The camera APIs the journey depends on are unavailable in insecure contexts.

### Hybrid and native apps

Do not embed the journey in an in-app WebView. Use the system browser:

* Android → [CustomTabs](/you/Ol1H6eGO4sQvPYB1Nmyl/sdk/app/android/customtabs.md)
* iOS → [ASWebAuthenticationSession](/you/Ol1H6eGO4sQvPYB1Nmyl/sdk/app/ios/aswebauthenticationsession.md)
* Ionic, React Native, Flutter → see SDK App

{% hint style="warning" %}
Social-network in-app browsers (Instagram, Facebook) are not supported.
{% endhint %}

### Checking compatibility at runtime

This matrix is guidance, not the source of truth. `init()` returns the device-support status, and `onError` reports device incompatibility — always handle both and route unsupported users to a fallback.

### Market device coverage

The requirements above were defined based on real usage data from the global markets. Devices that meet the minimum operating system versions and supported browsers represent approximately **95% to 97% of active devices** currently in use.

This means the vast majority of end users can complete the Human Tokenization journey without any additional adaptation, ensuring high conversion rates and broad coverage of the customer base.

> Percentages are based on OS version and browser distribution data collected from market sources (StatCounter, Android Distribution Dashboard, Apple).
